Welcome to friendsincognito.com! When I conducted an online survey of more than 1,500 men and women between the ages of 17 and 70 for a certain research, the promise of anonymity opened a floodgate of stories and emotions.
Women poured out their hearts, revealing the details of friendship problems often kept secret because of the stigma attached to failed friendships. Using initials or pseudonyms, they felt comfortable sharing their stories with me.
Their concerns and questions regarding the complexities and complications involved in female friendships suggested the need for this blog, a virtual roadmap for navigating the tricky terrain of friendships.
